"William has a unique relationship to keys, which he uses actively in his work. Keys have become a metaphor for his identity and his world, which is built up of diverse nationalities, cultures and ever-changing homes. Keys symbolise memories, presented in the form of both emotions and experiences.

The exhibition INTERLOCKED focuses on that everything in life is connected – just like keys on a key ring. William has experience with this in particular, as last year he had an accident involving his fingers. The accident threatened his future as an artist, but it was ultimately this accident that motivated him to complete his first exhibition in October. William’s hand-drawn monochrome works are defined by his strong use of contrasts, and his sharp and simple style. Each work has a rigid expression – but it is also extremely personal.

William is an educated architect, is colour blind and currently works as an artist and designer. He is born abroad, grew up in Denmark and New Zealand, and has English and German ties. INTERLOCKED is William’s second exhibition in Aarhus."
